Taking on the World of Cake

I have always loved baking, it's been a passion of mine for many years, however we all know how it goes; life gets in the way. Baking went on the back burner for the most part, but since becoming vegan my baking passion was rekindled in the form of egg and dairy free baked deliciousness and making treats that taste just as good - if not better - than the real thing has become my new obsession.
I started with just baking, converting recipes like a standard rocky road to a guilt free delicious vegan rocky road, stuffed with vegan marshmallows and vegan biscuit. And by biscuits I mean digestives, normal digestives, actually a lot of the ingredients used for cakes are exactly the same, the recipe is only slightly different. The word vegan is associated with bland and boring foods, how can a meal be a meal without diary or meat? Well its quite the opposite with vegan cake, the recipe changes slightly and enhances the taste quite considerably.
Baking has always come naturally to me but decorating has been a new challenge all together, the beauty of this challenge though is being able to learn how to decorate vegan style, which is turning out to be a fun and rewarding adventure. On this blog I want to share my vegan cake journey, information and photos, discovering new recipes and learning new decorating skills. Anyway, until my next cake venture, drink tea, eat cake and always be kind.
